Major(s)/Minor(s):History, Political Science, International Affairs, Music, Transnational European Studies

The Student Government Association here at the University of Georgia is built off the three foundational principles of our
state: wisdom, justice, and moderation. I believe I’ve embodied all three of these principles, both in high school and here at
college during my freshman year; I hope to continue to embody these principles if given the chance to serve on the Senate.
Currently, I’m an active member of Young Democrats, Arch Policy Institute, Phi Alpha Theta, and Amnesty International,
where I’ve been able to make a constructive difference engaging and volunteering within the community, collaborating with
other extracurricular organizations on campus, and learning necessary skills needed to interact with others and get things
done. On top of this, I am currently enrolled in Franklin College, SPIA, and the Honors College, as I seek to take advantage
of the wide variety of challenging academic opportunities available here. These involvements and passions have helped me
understand what it means to be wise in decision-making spaces, especially in spaces as large as UGA and its 43,000-person
student body. The wisdom I’ve been able to garner through these involvements is tempered by the third pillar of moderation,
which has helped me understand that true leadership and responsibility requires being receptive and accessible to the needs
of others, in this case, the students of Franklin College, and more broadly, the whole university. What’s more is that justice is
important to ensuring that essential resources, such as service opportunities, career information, and medical care, are
accessible to everyone on a daily basis on campus. Rather than platitudes, my leadership will consist of showing up
everyday to get to work based off the needs of my constituents.

  1. Counseling Appointments- Just like how we have an academic advisor we’re required to see every semester, I believe that
every student should have a mandatory mental health session with a counselor or therapist. Though many would assume
this would require significant funding and personnel, I think we could employ students who are willing and screened,
preferably those seeking to become therapists (psychology majors), though anyone could volunteer to help out. Perhaps this could count as credit? I believe in this way you can equip those on campus who’d like to acquire some sort of experience being a therapist/counselor. Additionally, this measure would greatly improve the overall wellbeing of students on campus and ensure they have someone they can talk to regarding their worries, desires, mental health, plans for the future, and anything else they so wish to choose to talk about.
  2. Campus Safety- Residence halls at this moment are not any way, shape, or form as safe as they could be. Access to many residence halls often only requires simply following someone else with access inside the building. Though this particularity is imperfect yet permanent in the near future, I think we could ensure guests are required to check in at the desk for their residence hall or community WITH the person that they’re visiting who will have their ID out. Campus safety can be improved in a myriad of other ways, including assessing restroom cleanliness on a regular basis and having more regular campus patrols.
  3. Civic Engagement- Due to the political climate we are currently living in, it is imperative students receive adequate political information in order to stay vigilant, informed, and engaged. I believe SGA should sponsor more political awareness events, such as debates and/or forums between different (political) organizations on campus, presenting different opportunities for how to get involved and registered to vote, and sending out a unbiased newsletter of political information monthly to the general populace.

Major(s)/Minor(s): Chemistry

The student body will benefit from my involvement in the 39th Administration of the Student Government Association through my commitment to service, connection, and action. Student Government is more than leadership—it’s a commitment to serving a community beyond yourself. Being a part of Senate has been a great privilege and has taught me diligence, creativity, and has fostered my passion for service. I know that my participation in Student Government will mean putting full force into building connections with the student body and the greater Athens-Clarke County community. My passion for service extends beyond government—I founded Bulldog Brushers to promote dental hygiene education in the young Athens-Clarke County community and have led a number of other meaningful initiatives. In Senate, I also passed a resolution to bring service directly into Student Government and to create opportunities for Senators to engage in hands-on community outreach. Through this work, I have helped launch plans for students to socialize with residents at a local retirement center, building meaningful intergenerational connections while expanding Student Government’s role in serving the broader community. My background in event planning and policy-making has prepared me to develop initiatives that address campus needs while amplifying student voices. As a highly involved member of the UGA community, I bring a unique perspective that will help bridge different student organizations and amplify diverse voices. Moreover, my drive and passion have led me to accomplish things much larger than myself. Given this opportunity, I will work tirelessly to ensure students’ needs are heard, addressed, and transformed into action.

  1. Expand community service and strengthen Athens–Clarke County outreach I seek to increase access to meaningful community service opportunities that bridge the gap between UGA students and the greater Athens–Clarke County community. Building on my work in Senate to bring service directly into the student body, I want to continue creating hands-on outreach initiatives that foster genuine connections, address local needs, and encourage long-term student engagement beyond campus.
  2. Improve Athena’s schedule planning tools I want to work with the designers of the Athena website to allow students to filter classes by specific days and times of the week while on the schedule planning page. This would make academic planning more efficient, reduce scheduling conflicts, and help students better balance coursework with jobs, research, and extracurricular commitments.
  3. Increase transparency in UGA emergency communications I want to look into improving transparency for UGA emergency communication emails so students receive clearer, more timely, and more informative updates. Enhancing how information is communicated during emergencies will help students feel more informed, safer, and more confident in the university’s response systems.

Campus Life for Community Involvement Candidate

There is one (1) Senate seat available for Community Involvement and one (1) candidate running.

Major(s)/Minor(s): Political Science, Criminal Justice, Law, Jurisprudence, and the State

The student body will benefit from my involvement in SGA because I strive to prioritize practical, student-centered solutions
that address everyday challenges college students face. Rather than focusing solely on large-scale programming, I am
committed to initiatives that reduce financial stress, save students time, and increase access to resources, which students
have previously voiced as major issues. My experience working with community partners and understanding student needs allows me to advocate for policies that are both impactful and realistic, ensuring SGA delivers tangible benefits students can
actually feel.

  1. Books for Benefits: a program that allows students to donate their textbooks, recreational books, or course-related
readings to be redistributed to students in need or sold at a low cost through campus partners, reducing the financial burden of books while promoting sustainability and community support. This initiative ensures that unused books create real value for students instead of going to waste.
  2. 100 Hours, 100 Impact: I aim to launch a campus-wide service challenge that encourages students and organizations to collectively complete 100 hours of service each month. This initiative builds a culture of service while recognizing student organizations that go above and beyond in community engagement.
  3. Finals Care I plan to host finals-week pop-ups where students can receive free snacks, coffee, or wellness kits in exchange for writing cards, packing supplies, or doing small service tasks that show our appreciation for local nonprofits, hospitals,
schools, emergency and first responders, healthcare workers, and other community helpers.

Campus Life for Health and Humanities Candidate

There is one (1) Senate seat available for Health and Humanities and one (1) candidate running.

Major(s)/Minor(s): Major: Risk Management and Insurance; Minor: Classical Culture

Nobody enjoys being sick, especially when you have homework to do and tests to prepare for. As your Campus Life for Health and Humanities senator, I will work to implement policies to help keep all students healthy throughout the school year.

  1. Easier walk-in process at the University Health Center: You can’t always anticipate being sick, and the Health Center does
not always take walk-in appointments. I will advocate for a more walk-in friendly department within the Health Center so that students can receive attention from a doctor or nurse right then and there similar to at an urgent care office.
  2. Hand sanitizer pumps at all dining halls: I will advocate for hand sanitizer pumps to be dispersed throughout all dining halls. Since there are no bathrooms once you enter a dining hall, it would be nice for students to have a way to wash their hands before they eat. Although pumps are occasionally placed in the dining halls, I want to implement this to be a regular policy year round.
  3. Improved University Health Center interface: I will push for the University Health Center to make a more user friendly interface. If you have tried to book an appointment with the Health Center before, it can be very frustrating and confusing due to all of the different sections there are. I am looking to make it easier for students to book an appointment online when they need to see a nurse or doctor, even if it is the day of.

Campus Life for Sustainability

There is one (1) Senate seat available for Sustainability and one (1) candidate running.

Major(s)/Minor(s): Major: Ecology A.B., Sociology A.B.; Certificate in Urban and Metropolitan Studies

With three years of experience in the SGA Senate, I know how to turn student feedback into proposals that meaningfully contribute to sustainability on campus. If re-elected, I plan on using my established connections with Auxiliary Services and the Office of Sustainability to continue promoting environmental consciousness in the development of our transportation, parking, dining, housing, and campus services.

  1. Improve financial support for the Office of Sustainability by advocating for an adjustment to the semesterly Green Fee,
allowing for increased internship opportunities, student grant awards, sustainable development projects, and more.
  2. Survey students’ opinion of how Green Fee funding should be spent to best inform the Office of Sustainability on future
    projects and initiatives.
  3. Push for a higher consideration of environmental sustainability in development and planning decisions by facilitating increased collaboration between the Office of Sustainability and the Office of University Architects.
