Senate Candidates for the Terry College of Business
Senators of Schools and Colleges shall be elected from each of the individual schools and colleges of the University of Georgia in proportion to the student enrollment within the school or college using the formula of one (1) Senate seat for every one-thousand (1,000) students enrolled in said school or college, and one (1) Senate seat for any school or college with less than one-thousand (1,000) students enrolled.
There are eleven (11) Senate seats available for Terry College of Business and eleven (11) candidates running.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Intended Finance
As a member of the University of Georgia Senate, I commit to advocating for the needs and interests of all students in the Terry College of Business.
As a Terry senator I hope to…
- Make more football tickets available to the student body.
- Vouch for new elevators in the MLC.
- Propose additional bus routes for students.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Finance
I will advocate for the experience of the student body at Georgia, working to find real solutions to the everyday problems that UGA students face.
- I plan to add more trashcans around campus, especially in areas like the freshman dorms and around Terry, high-traffic areas that lack trashcans.
- I plan to add more interior maps inside of campus buildings to make the process of finding classes
much easier. - I plan to start a Superstar of the Semester program at dining halls to uplift the dining hall workers that make UGA so special.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Business Management and Political Science
Having served the past administration I am confident that with my now knowledge of the process of Senate and the position you hold, I believe I will be able to contribute greatly to Terry and to campus as a whole.
- The first initiative I would like to continue with would be seeking financial aid for students participating in skoolers and
science guys. These resources are heavily utilized and not very cheap. Our students could benefit from financial aid towards
these resources. - The second would be to install nap pods on Terrys campus similar to the ones in the Pharmecy school, so
that business students could have a space to decompress between classes. - Lastly I would like to seek out a way to establish a greater connection between student care and outreach and terry. Wether that be having SCO go to classrooms once a
semester or ensuring that professors spend the first day touching heavily on mental health resources on campus, SCO is a
great resource on campus which students should hear about more frequently.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Finance, Management; Minor: POLS
As an incumbent Terry College of Business Senator, as well as the only Terry College of Business Senator who chairs one of the 6 Senatorial Committees, I have been an active member of Senate by passing 3 pieces of legislation and meeting with Terry administration on behalf of each Terry student I represented. The primary focus of my first term was on improving easy access for Terry students: I successfully was able to redesign the “Student Organizations” page on the Terry College of Business website. This initiative, in coordination with each of the 40+ student organizations within Terry, focused on making it easier for students to find a business club that is specific to their grade, major, and intended level of prestige. The website now reflects a detailed description of every student organization, what major the club is primarily focused on, what grade(s) it
is available to, the application & interview timeline, the overall number of members & acceptance rate, and the clubs website/social media/contact information. We have built a positive relationship with the Terry College administration that we are confident will serve as a building block going forward for larger projects & initiatives that benefit students at Terry. As the first group of senators who have worked with new interim Dean Chatterjee, we are confident in the relationship we have developed and are excited to continue that work. Outside of Terry, I have been an advocate for initiatives surrounding other important student functions like making student football tickets transferable, increasing safety in the greek life section at games, and working on ways to improve student parking and transportation around campus.
- Improve the Student Ticket Process & Ability to transfer tickets. Explained: Design a new way for students to be able to transfer their assigned student ticket for football games. Knowing that football tickets are an essential part of the UGA student experience, I want to implement a solution that pleases the athletic department and finally allows students to have more flexibility with their tickets by transferring them.
- Build lockers within Terry for students to leave/grab their business professional clothing throughout the day. Explained: One of the largest problems unique to business majors is the burden of worrying about your business clothing throughout the days you have an interview, meeting, or any other instance applicable. Our proposal is to build lockers within Terry, similar to the ones in Ramsey, that have a temporary access code and students can store their business professional clothing in them during the day they need it. This way, students can wear casual clothing throughout the day and then just simply grab their business professional clothing from their locker and change into it before their 4pm interview.
- Be an advocate for all Terry students & somebody who is accessible. Explained: Something I prioritized in my first term and will definitely continue is being an accessible resource for students & organizations around campus to come and address their concerns – not JUST for Terry problems. While I make sure to represent Terry first, I also aspire to help students with problems across campus beyond the Terry College of Business.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Intended Accounting and Finance
As a Senator, I promise to represent the needs and concerns of my fellow Terry College of Business students. The student body will see the benefits of me being involved in the Student Government Association because of my determination to accomplish my goals. I will further our relationship with the administrative staff of Terry in order to advance initiatives for students. Overall, I will combine my intentionality, drive, and passion to best meet the needs of students across campus.
- Terry Initiative Tracker: Continue to partner with organizations to make details such as application processes more accessible for students.
- Mentorship Expansion: Increase student-to-student mentorship between intended Terry students and Terry students.
- Interdisciplinary prioritization: Partner with other colleges to create more defined pathways for students that.choose to explore two separate areas of interest
Major(s)/Minor(s): Intended Finance
Through my involvement in the Student Government Association here at the University of Georgia, I believe the student body will benefit from not only my call to action and perspective based on my experiences here at the university, but also sympathetic circumstances that may arise from any angle in a student’s life. Through my first year on campus I have been able to connect with a multitude of fellow students from drastically varying backgrounds and would be honored to take part in uniting our voices to bridge the gap between visualization and reality when it comes to improvement of our collective college
experience.
It gets more and more challenging to find a spot to sit down and study as the semesters go on and classes progress, which is why I believe it would benefit the masses to allocate more outdoor space towards sufficient areas for productivity especially at the Terry College of Business to satisfy the needs of all students, along with another quality of life addition such as implementing more ice machines in heavy traffic areas on campus like Terry and the MLC. I also would like to pursue an increase in guest swipes for dining halls to allow students to be able to use them for many purposes, such as getting lunch with parents in town or other students who don’t have a meal plan.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Finance
The student body will benefit from my involvement in the Student Government Association because I bring both experience and broad connection across campus. I previously served as a freshman senator, which gave me a strong understanding of how SGA operates and how to effectively advocate within it. Through my involvement in Greek life and my connections to
both Magellan and Terry, I am able to hear perspectives from a wide range of students and communities. I am genuinely willing to listen to all voices, especially those that may feel underrepresented, and I want to ensure their concerns are communicated clearly and thoughtfully. My goal is to represent the interests of Terry students and the wider student body while working collaboratively to turn student feedback into meaningful action.
- Expanding Financial Literacy Education One initiative I seek to complete is advocating for expanded financial literacy education for UGA students. This includes working toward making financial literacy a required or more accessible component of the undergraduate experience, particularly for incoming students. By collaborating with faculty and administration, I hope to promote practical education on budgeting, credit, student loans, and long-term financial planning so students feel more confident managing their finances during and after college.
- Improving Transparency and Accessibility of Terry College Student Organizations Another initiative is making Terry College student organizations more transparent and accessible to
students. Many students are interested in getting involved but are unsure which clubs align with their interests or how to join. I aim to create clearer communication channels and resources that outline the purpose, application process, and expectations of Terry-affiliated clubs so students can make informed decisions and feel more confident pursuing involvement. - Installing Sleep Pods in Tate Student Center My third initiative is advocating for the installation of sleep pods in the Tate Student Center. Many students balance heavy academic loads, extracurriculars, and jobs, often leading to exhaustion. Sleep
pods would provide a safe, quiet space for short rest periods, supporting student wellness, mental health, and productivity
while recognizing the realities of student life.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Intended Finance
The student body will benefit from my involvement in the Student Government Association because I will work diligently
alongside my peers to improve the UGA experience for all students. I am committed to making everyone feel represented and included on campus while advocating for strong academics, meaningful opportunities, and student well-being. If elected, I would strive to ensure that every student has a voice and a clear outlet for creating positive change at UGA.
- Major-to-Career Exploration Program: This program would help students better understand how different majors connect to real-world career paths from panels, alumni insights, and hands on opportunities, allowing students to make more informed decisions.
- Student Voice & Feedback Initiative: I would establish regular student voice assemblies and an
accessible feedback system that allows students to share concerns directly with SGA while ensuring their input is documented, addressed, and followed up on in a transparent way. - Bulldog Unity: I would work to expand school spirit initiatives by creating more campus wide events and traditions that celebrate UGA pride, bring students together across colleges and class years, and strengthen a shared sense of Bulldog community.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Marketing
As a potential returning member to the UGA Senate I’ll strive to continue in the work that I have started in bettering the Terry College and the entirety of the Student Body
- Terry Freshman Launch Lab A six-week onboarding program that equips first-year students with essential professional skills,
career awareness, and a clear development roadmap. Participants complete resume and LinkedIn workshops, introductory
technical training, and a small applied project to finish their first semester prepared and confident. - Terry Major Discovery Sprint A short exploration program where freshmen rotate through interactive sessions representing each Terry major. Students gain exposure to career paths, tools, and student experiences to make informed decisions about their academic direction. Freshman
- Career Shadow Week A coordinated program that connects first-year students with upperclassmen or
alumni for brief job-shadowing experiences. Early exposure helps freshmen understand real-world roles and begin developing professional interests sooner.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Finance
If reelected as a Terry Senator, I will continue to use my leadership and organizational skills to ensure student voices are heard and acted upon. My primary goal next year is to foster a more connected and supportive community within Terry. Through my involvement, I aim to help every student feel represented, engaged, and connected as they shape their experience at the Terry College of Business.
Three initiatives that I hope to continue working on and ultimately pass are professional lockers for Terry students, increased awareness of Terry clubs and organizations through a new and updated website, and a revamped This Week at Terry newsletter to improve communication and increased student engagement.
Major(s)/Minor(s): Finance
The student body will benefit from my involvement in the SGA because I have experience from high school, having been the Student Government President (2023-2024) and a Student Government Representative (2022-2023). I’m from Virginia, so I offer a different perspective that I think can be beneficial to this school. I believe I’m disciplined and a natural leader, and most of all I love UGA and care about its future, with my biggest goal being to leave this place a better place than I found it
I want to add financial aid for Skoolers Tutoring packets because they have helped myself and classmates tremendously in a variety of Terry classes. Secondly, I want to implement more student care and outreach programs in Terry classes, allowing
for more student involvement and participation in classes with potential benefits to the student being extra credit. Lastly, I want to make sure professors have more autonomy in curriculum so their passion for teaching can be displayed to their students, increasing attendance and engagement.
