Freshman Programs

Incoming freshmen at the University of Georgia have a unique opportunity to get involved with Student Government Association from the start. Student Government Association Freshman Programs (FP) are three groups of driven, diverse and dedicated first-year students who work to make a real impact on their campus and enhance their first-year experience. Each program is led by accomplished UGA students who serve as directors and mentors to you throughout the year. Students form friendships that will extend past college. Students will learn their strengths and become a more confident and passionate leader. FP alumni also go on to fill leadership roles in just about every organization at UGA, and projects accomplished by members of Freshman Programs continue to affect UGA for years to come.

Freshman Board

Freshman board

Freshman Board is a program dedicated to teaching first-year students the ins and outs of the Student Government Association. The program consists of 15 students, who each design and execute projects to better the university. Throughout the year, members hear from exciting speakers from around campus. Freshman Board members also serve in the Senate, speaking and voting on important issues on behalf of the entire freshman class. Members have a fantastic opportunity to better the “freshman experience” for their fellow classmates, as well as learn about all of the different opportunities made available to them by the university. Freshman Board is a family of leaders who have the desire to serve the Bulldawg Nation.

Freshman Connect

Freshman Connect is an opportunity to impact student life on campus through the initiatives of bright-minded people. Freshman Connect is designed to equip 30 outstanding first-year students to make great impacts on the UGA campus and their own personal lives while fully embracing what it means to teach, to serve, and to inquire into the nature of things.  These students will serve as active members and ambassadors to their freshman class within the Student Government Association Committees to create projects and initiatives. Members of Connect will work to develop their personal leadership styles while also developing their personality styles in a group dynamic and also be introduced to a variety of opportunities across campus.

Freshman Forum

Freshman Forum is a group of 60+ leaders who will become your best friends. It's a place to learn more about yourself and how you can affect others. Students will learn how to become the best leader in serving your community and your campus.

Freshman Forum is family.
