Judicial Branch

The Judicial Branch is to ensure accountability and responsibility within the Student Government Association.

The Supreme Court, made up of the Chief Justice and 4 Associate Justices. It has jurisdiction over different cases presented in SGA, such as alleged violations of the Constitution and of the Code of Ethics. The Supreme Court also has the power to expel a member from office if there is a majority vote.

	Katie Penland Chief Justice kpenland@uga.edu	Highest ranking member of the Judicial Branch whose duties include presiding over the Supreme Court as well as presenting the majority opinion of the Supreme Court before the Senate.
	Carter Galbraith Associate Justice  c.galbraith1@gmail.com	Member of the Judicial Branch whose duty is to serve on the Supreme Court. Justices are to issue either a majority or dissenting opinion for each case presented. Reports to the Chief Justice.
